But there were still some nice C/A moments.
LIke the Groo snarking and being sarcastic, we saw that last week when he and Angel started fussing over the size of his "weapon" and how he hadn't gotten any complaints.
Now we get his sarcastic comment about the all mighty Angel. Not surprising that we're seeing a resurge in Groo popularity now that he's showing some spine.
But I liked how we see Cordelia and Angel work together w/ the way she immiedately threw him the sword. She didn't seem too concerned about Groo at the time.
I liked his tone when he was griping about her vision, he always takes a moment for her. We didn't see him this patient w/ Wes in the Pylean thing or w/ Gunn.
Plus, we got that tense look from Groo in the background simmering while they're talking. Contrived, perhaps but it's nice to see little moments building to C/A.
I can see your point over the scene where he's annoyed about listening to Angel's stories. He's such a looser and I don't need to heear about him getting it on w/ some urg beasts.
And we get the vague assurance that he's the only PYLEAN that she cares about. So she doesn't have the hots for Lorne, hardly the kind of thing that would reassure him.
And that little look away, yeah, that one's going to come up in the blipverts again.
I liked the way that they're not even looking at each other on the couch, they're facing away from each other, kinda frosty.
Overall, it wasn't heavily C/A but it would've been hard to balance against the primary relationship of Connor and Angel. And in all honesty I'd rather have the Groo/Cordelia thing self-implode w/o Angel brooding over their shoulders. They're not talking or connecting regardless but it seems from his jealousy that this started in Mexico.
